Hypnotherapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can be completely debilitating, affecting all areas of our lives. Some people find it gets worse in social situations (social anxiety) whilst others find it seems to be less connected to specific experiences, just happening out of the blue. It can creep up on us without warning, seemingly for no reason, build up over a long period, or it can sometimes be a response to a sudden change, a life event such as bereavement, job loss, or illness. Often symptoms such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Migraine, Persistent Pain or other physical responses can occur. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective treatment for all kinds of conditions.
It is a general feeling of unease, which can affect our quality of life in many ways and affects 1 in 4 people at some time in their lives. Twice as many women as men are affected, according to research. Whilst it is a natural response, designed to keep us safe in times of danger, extreme anxiety can result in panic attacks; a frightening experience, with physical symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath and shaking.
Hypnotherapy is a very effective method of overcoming anxiety and panic attacks, by relaxing the fear response and encouraging changes in our thought processes, creating positive thoughts. Many clients report improvements once they understand how their minds work and what the triggers are. This understanding is then enhanced as they see positive changes occur and start to feel more in control.
